This is me! Want to know more about the behind the scenes? Want to see firsthand some amazing venues? I am going to write all about it in my blog and can't wait to hear your questions or comments.
The weather is beautiful, the water is crystal blue, there are no interruptions with large crowds on the beach and we even had a rainbow during the ceremony. When our clients got engaged they knew right away that Vieques island would be their location. The groom is a native of Vieques island and a large majority of his relatives still live on the island. Everyone else flew in from New York and many of them had never visited Puerto Rico or Vieques.
The welcome reception took place on the beach with a Puerto Rican buffet. We placed oversized pillows, rope ottomans and tiki torches throughout the beach along with a bonfire which was the focal point of the night. Bili, a local drink, was the favor that was given to the guests as they entered the beach. Guests danced the night away to a calypso band.
Whisper Beach was the setting for the ceremony and the view was breathtaking. This was an all-white wedding including the guests and flowers. Ranunculus, Dendrobium Orchids, Hydrangeas, Stock, Alstroemeria and Roses were some of the flowers that we used to create the centerpieces of the reception.
As event designers our challenge was to place 130 guests on the W Lawn which is located across from the Spa and the ground is not even. Our clients opted to have a 100’x60′ tent and a dance floor placed in the center of the tent. We lit the tent with crystal chandeliers and twinkly lights and the atmosphere was simply romantic.
Since the hotel has a 10:00PM curfew, our clients threw an after party at the ballroom until 1:00AM. It had a loungy club atmosphere with a bar and music by DJ Paul Chavez.
